Message from James Moseley, our New President
I am delighted to be picking up the mantle laid down by Brian Winterflood, to whom I am extremely grateful for having given me the opportunity to support this very worthwhile charity. I know Brian has done an amazing job over the last 18 years and is a very hard act to follow, but I hope that I can continue very much where he left off.
As a father of four, I consider myself very privileged to be playing such an active role both as a director at Winterflood and as a parent of four growing children who are eager to live life to the maximum. It is with this in mind that I am very keen to become involved with Remedi in its efforts to support people whose lives have been restricted through disease or injury and who cannot afford all that so many of us take for granted each day.
Reading of the many groups of people who have benefited from Remedi’s excellent research projects, I have become aware that most of us have either been directly or indirectly affected by one or more of the medical conditions the charity has been able to support. Having spent the last 13 years in the City and 5 years in the army I hope very much that I will be able to raise Remedi’s profile amongst a wider audience.
I therefore look forward to working alongside Rosie and the other members of the charity in order to gain as much support as we possibly can for this extremely important cause.
To set the ball rolling, our first event is a charity dinner to be held at the Guildhall on 1 November which I am very much looking forward to. We have lots of other events planned for the year, including our annual London Marathon team, which I am relieved to report that neither my wife nor myself will be part of this year!
Finally I would like to thank Brian once again for the opportunity to take over as President of Remedi and I hope that it is a long and successful relationship.
James Moseley

Non-Executive Chairman, Winterflood Securities
Vice President , Remedi
I joined the Board of Trustees and was elected Vice-President under the Presidency of the late Duchess of Beaufort - I became President in 1998.
Remedi was set up in 1973 on the back of efforts to combat Osteoporosis by one of our founders, namely Dr Allan Dixon OBE. His work led to the setting up of the National Osteoporosis Society.
Remedi's raison d'etre is to raise funds for research into projects which have only reached the "incubator" stage of the project where funds are not readily available from large organisations or the Government.
Complimenting this we also fund ongoing research into disabiity and rehabilitation.
You will see that we cover an enormous range - from Research into Cerebral Palsy in children (again this year one of our main appeals to reach our target for the Oxford Brooke's project) , treatment for stroke victims, brain injury to autism and many many more areas of disease and distress.
There are very few charities who focus on rehabilitation research.
I am very proud of what Remedi does. We do believe that prevention is essential but we also passionately believe that as medical research progresses, we are more likely to live with an illness than die with it and, therefore, rehabilitation is becoming ever increasingly important.
To quote our present Director of Operations, Mrs Rosie Wait, "we at Remedi are dedicated to making this journey back to normal life a reality".
